We are delighted to announce the winners of the 2010 Senior Portrait Scholarships. We had a large number of applicants and narrowing down to these four was quite difficult. Thanks to all of the students, parents and counselors who participated.

Blue Ribbon Bride

One of the hardest categories to achieve a blue ribbon in is the bridal portrait category. This winning image, entitled You'd Better Marry Me! features a delightful recent bride; Minna. The range of portraits from this sitting show the benefit of our constant motion style of posing. A few minutes into a photo shoot and this bride found her inner supermodel. This image is sassy. Others were elegant, fun, dramatic or sweet- because Minna was comfortable enough to unveil the many facets of her personality. Carrie and I always brag about being able to capture the "real you" in our portraits. Even when polished and posed, your personality truly comes to the forefront. It makes or breaks the moment we immortalize.

One of favorite things to photograph are waterlilies. They make lovely photographs and terrific painting subjects. This image also received a national merit last year at the PPA International Print Competition.

Senior Portrait Scholarship Press Release

For Immediate Release

Senior year is an exciting time for capturing memories and making plans for more, one during which senior photos sessions are nearly a rite of passage. Unfortunately, not every student is financially able to enjoy this experience. This year, though, three high school seniors from the class of ’09 will get the opportunity to “capture their best” through a portrait scholarship package offered by Eric Green Photography LLC. Each valued at more than $240, these scholarship packages are quite the prize.

To be eligible for the scholarship, download an application form from Eric Green Photography’s website, www.ericgreenphotography.com/application.pdf . The application includes a 250-word essay asking a very to-the-point question: “why do you (or the senior you’re nominating) deserve the scholarship?'' An honest and compelling answer, coupled with a financial need, is all that’s required for the chance to win.

There are so many students who deserve to shine, and Eric and Carrie Green believe this wholeheartedly. In an effort to give more of them a chance to do so, this husband and wife photography team has opened their scholarship to graduating seniors from all of the high schools in the Hampton Roads area.

The final day for application submissions is Friday, September 19th, 2008. Winners will be announced via e-mail and on the studio website by Monday, September 22nd, 2008. Applications may be submitted by students, parents, teachers or administrators.

Thirty Minutes....Thousands of backgrounds

We recently challenged ourselves and our new scene machine to see just how many different looks we could get in a half hour. We asked Ann to bring in as many outfits as she'd like, selected the best backgrounds from our vast collection and started shooting. I knew the scene machine was remarkable cutting edge technology...but the results still amazed me.

Imagine what we can do in a typical two hour portrait sitting!

Whenever we do an engagment photoshoot we always make certain to get a few images of the couple individually. This is a favorite of mine of Allison looking sassy.

New Senior Marketing Campaign

Country Girl-continued

Our country girl, Amber, is an avid soccer player. For her graduation announcements, we used this image of her in a red evening gown, red socks, cleats with a soccer ball. This series, shot by Carrie, included many live action shots with Amber kicking the ball to me (sometimes at me) just off camera. We had lots of fun with these images.

Country Girl heads to Alaska

The end of the school year can be a busy time for senior pictures. We always have several seniors who come to us late in the year to get our exclusive graduation announcements.

Here are some images of Amber from Polytech High School. She is a county girl at heart who will be heading to the University of Alaska next year. You heard that right...the University of Alaska. The U of A was the only school offering the criminolgy degree and Air Force ROTC that Amber was looking for.
